Spirit Tracks features 13 Heart Containers scattered across New Hyrule, giving Link a maximum of 16 hearts. Of the 13 Heart Containers Link can find, 5 of them are found as rewards for defeating the various bosses at the 5 Temples scattered around the world. There are then 8 additional Heart Containers to find. Below is listing of all the heart containers, in order that you can acquire them.
Location: Forest Temple
Conditions: Defeat Stagnox
Heart Container #1: Given to Link as a reward for defeating Stagnox, the boss of the Forest Temple.
Location: Castle Town
Conditions: Acquire the Whirlwind
Heart Container #2: Head to Castle Town and enter the building at the bottom-right corner of town to find the Take 'Em All On Challenge. It costs 50 Rupees to compete. Level 1 is unlocked after completing the Forest Temple; it consists of 10 floors and most of the enemies are fairly easy. Link does not get any recovery hearts throughout the 10 floors, but he still can use potions. Head to the Take 'Em All On page to see a list of the enemies in this level.
Location: Rabbitland Rescue
Conditions: Acquire the Rabbit Net
Heart Container #3: Capture at least five Rabbits and then return to the Rabbitland Rescue and speak with Bunnio. Check out our Rabbit Location Guide to help you find enough.
Location: Snow Temple
Conditions: Defeat Fraaz
Heart Container #4: Given to Link as a reward for defeating Fraaz, the boss of the Snow Temple.
Location: Hyrule Castle
Conditions: Enough Rupees to practice (50)
Heart Container #5: After completing the Snow Temple Link should receive a letter from Russell, the swordsman at Hyrule Castle. Check it out and Russell has setup a mini-game of sorts. Link must score at least 60 hits on the three guards to get the Heart Container. The trick is to just stay between the swordsman on the right and at the bottom. Just keep hitting them over and over, and it appears that one of them is reaching back as if they are going to hit Link, quickly turn around and slash at them. Link should be out of reach so the left guard won't be an issue.

Heart Container #6: Can be purchased from the Anouki shop at the Snow Sanctuary for 2,000 Rupees.

Conditions: Defeat Phytops
Heart Container #7: Given to Link as a reward for defeating Phytops, the boss of the Ocean Temple.
Location: Whittleton
Conditions: Acquire the Whip
Heart Container #8: After obtaining the Whip, head to Whittleton Village where Link can participate in the Whip Race. If he scores a time of under 1:15, he will be rewarded with a Heart Container!
Location: Fire Temple
Conditions: Defeat Cragma
Heart Container #9: Given to Link as a reward for defeating Cragma, the boss of the Fire Temple.
Location: Pirate Hideout
Conditions: Acquire the Bow
Heart Container #10: After Link has completed the Fire Temple, he can then collect the 16th Force Gem by bringing ten units of Mega Ice to the Fish Seller in Papuchia Village. This will open new Spirit Tracks, allowing Link to reach the Pirate Hideout. After saving the Papuchia Prisoner Link can play he Pirate mini-game. Score 4,000 points and Link will get the Heart Container.

Conditions: Defeat Skeldritch
Heart Container #11: Given to Link as a reward for defeating Skeldritch, the boss of the Sand Temple.
Location: Ends of the Earth Station
Conditions: Acquire the Sand Wand
Heart Container #12: Link first needs to collect the 20th Force Gem to open up Spirit Tracks to access the Ends of the Earth Station, located at the far northeast part of the land. Near the station, there is a cave that has several block pushing puzzles. After completing the third and most difficult of the block pushing puzzles, Link will be rewarded with a full Heart Container.
Location: Beedle's Air Shop
Conditions: Acquire the Gold Card
Heart Container #13: After purchasing 5,000 Rupees worth of goods from Beedle's Air Shop, Link will become a Gold Club Member. As a reward for being such a frequent shopper, Beedle awards Link with a Heart Container!
