There are two types of Patra, based on the revolution of the smaller eyes. In one type, the eyes that surround a Patra revolve in a perfect circular manner, expanding outwards and contracting back inwards in a steady rhythm. The other type sees the eyes revolve in a more varied and elliptical fashion.

Patras are enemies from The Legend of Zelda.

The Legend of Zelda

In either quest of the game, Patras can only be found in the 9th Level, Death Mountain. Patras consist of a single large eye, surrounded by eight smaller eyes. These smaller eyes will revolve around the center, occasionally moving away from the center eye to attack Link.

The best way to defeat a Patra is to slash at each of the other eyes until they are defeated, and then slash at the helpless center eye.
