The Sword & Shield Maze is the eighth dungeon in Oracle of Seasons. It is also the only dungeon located in Subrosia. This maze houses numerous dangerous enemies and the Mini-Boss, Frypolar. The dungeon item obtained here is known as the Hyper Slingshot. This weapon can be used to defeat the boss of the Sword & Shield Maze, Medusa Head. Once Link has conquered Medusa Head, he'll receive a Heart Container and the eighth Essence, Changing Seasons.

The dungeon is laid out in the shape of a sword and shield, hence the name "Sword and Shield Maze".
Sword and Shield Maze is the only place in Subrosia with ice. It is also the only dungeon in Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages with ice-covered floors.
