Gralens is a character found in Tears of the Kingdom.

Tears of the Kingdom

Gralens is the head of the Monster-Control Crew and runs the team along with its members, Flaxel, Landi, and Derbos. Their primary mission is to hunt down monsters that have been running around since the Upheaval. When Link first arrives at Lookout Landing, Gralens is excited to see him, but mentions he should repot to Purah immediately.

After speaking with Purah, Gralens mentions that the Monster-Control Crew is taking a break from usual operations to join the search Princess Zelda. They are tasked with searching Hyrule Castle, as this was the last place anybody had contact with Princess Zelda. Purah has instructed the crew to begin the search there.

After Link and Captain Hoz witness Princess Zelda at Hyrule Castle ascend into the sky and vanish, Link can share this informatoin with Gralens. As bizarre as it sounds, this information causes him to resume the Monster-Control Crew's duties. He will send out Flaxel's Squad to the south of Hyrule, in Faron. There are pirates on the coast who are running rampant and he tasks Flaxel's Squad to put an end to them.

Gralens can be found in the Emergency Shelter below Lookout Landing. He has sent all three of his monster-control crew squads on expeditions.

While the monster-control crew has some volunteers that are accustomed to battle, many are not. He advises Link to help out whenever he runs into one of the squads.

Gralens will offer Link tips on where the various squads are currently located. Hoz's Squad is hunting monsters in Hyrule Field, just south of Lookout Landing. Toren's Squad is on the north side of Death Mountain, investigating a cave at Lake Darman. Flaxel's Squad is hunting monsters in Faron. They are fighting pirates on the Menoat River, just south of Lake Hylia and west of Highland Stable.

After Hoz's Squad is victorious at Hyrule Field, Gralens mentions they have moved on to Necluda. They plan to launch an attack on the monsters at Fort Hateno.

Large Monsters

Gralens will later tell Link that there have been reports of some very large monsters in the area. Monsters who are so strong that the squad members are ill-equipped to fight them. Rather than engaging them, they are gathering intelligence and warning nearby residents. Gralens thinks Link is qualified to face them in battle, but realizes Link might have his hands full with other tasks.

Link can continue to ask Gralents about the large monsters. Gralens mentions a Stone Talus that was spotted by the survery team in Akkala. He also mentions a Hinox, which was spotted by some travlers in the Trilby Plain, near the Woodland Stable. Lastly, he mentions that a Molduga was discovered in the East Barrens of the Gerudo Desert.

Speaks to Gralents about each of these three monsters will begin three Side Quests, WANTED: Stone Talus, WANTED: Hinox, and WANTED: Molduga. When Link defeats each of the three monsters, Gralens will reward him with a Silver Rupee.

5. ↑ "Purah has given us orders to search thoroughly around Hyrule Castle. That's where we last had contact with Princess Zelda, so it seems the best starting point in the search. 6. ↑ "Yes, it's a group of volunteers who've joined together to defend the people from the onslaught of monsters. However, Purah has asked for our aid with a more pressing matter now. She's asked us to help in searching the castle. I was just debating whether or not to add reinforcements. But if you're joining the search, Link, I can keep our forces on standby. If you had to the castle, you'll run into Hoz and the advance party, who will probably be just as surprised to see you." — Gralens, Tears of the Kingdom
7. ↑ "I...see! Princess Zelda ascended into the sky above Hyrule Castle and then vanished? What a very strange thing... All the same, it's a relief to hear she's alive. Well then. With that information, the monster-control crew will resume our original duty of subduing the monsters. Of course, if we can come across any info regarding the princess, I will report it immediately to Purah. I've assembled strategies and pertinent informatoin at our headquarters in the emergency shelter. There you'll find folks with an intimate understanding of Hyrule's geography, as well. If any of that is relevant to you, I encourage you to take the time to stop by." — Gralens, Tears of the Kingdom

Recently, Purah asked that we suspend our involvement in the search for Princess Zelda. 22. ↑ "Recently there were some travelers passing by Trilby Plain near Woodland Stable in northeast Hyrule Field. Their intel confirmed a sighting of a Hinox in the area! Hinox are huge, one-eyed beasts. They are incredibly strong. So strong, in fact, that they wield trees as weapons! We'd go after it, but with that kind of strength, we'd be in over our heads. 23. ↑ "I have a report saying that a Molduga was discovered in the East Barrens in the Gerudo Desert. The report came from the ground research team, and they've asked us to exterminate it. A Molduga is a terrifying beast that swims through the sand like a fish. We'd go after it, but we don't have the means to tackle a monster that burrows in the sand like that..." — Gralens, Tears of the Kingdom
