Winter is one of the four seasons featured in the Legend of Zelda series. It is characterized by snow and ice, as well as the complete lack of vegetation.

Appearances

Majora's Mask

The Snowhead region in Majora's Mask is cursed with constant winter. The constant winter causes many problems such as the the Goron Racetrack being closed, Mountain Smithy's forge being frozen, and the abscence of the Frog Choir in the mountains.

Oracle of Seasons

In Oracle of Seasons, the four seasons have been thrown into chaos by General Onox, and the Temple of Seasons has fallen into Subrosia. Several regions throughout the land of Holodrum have Winter as its default season. During Winter, snow will appear in several areas of the overworld. Often times this snow will block Link's path, but other times, it creates a higher passageway that he can walk across. Additionally, in Winter, some parts of rivers, lakes, and ponds freeze over, allowing Link to travel over them by foot.

During Winter, some trees are completely baron of any leaves. As a result of becoming thinner, this narrows the amount of land that the tree covers, allowing Link to navigate around the trees where otherwise he wouldn't be able to reach in any other Season.

Four Swords Adventures

Twilight Princess

In Twilight Princess, all four seasons rotate every time Link visits the Fishing Hole.
