The Ghini is a ghost-like enemy that makes appearances in multiple 2D Zelda games. They are comparable to Poes, due to the fact that they typically inhabit Graveyards or other dark areas.
Appearances
The Legend of Zelda
Ghinis can be found in the Graveyard area at the west portion of the overworld Map in The Legend of Zelda. There is one primary Ghini located on each of the six screens where graves can be found. If Link touches any one of the gravestones, a Ghini will pop out. However, if Link defeats the original Ghini on the screen, all Ghini presently on the screen will also be defeated.
Link's Awakening
Ghini patrol the Cemetery area of Koholint Island in Link's Awakening. They are typically accompanied by Zombie creatures that come up from underground.
Giant Ghini
A single over-sized Ghini can be found at the top-right of the four graveyard screens. It has virtually the same characteristics as a standard Ghini and even takes the same number of hits to defeat.
Oracle of Ages & Seasons
Ghinis appear in the Graveyard and the Explorer's Crypt in Holodrum in Oracle of Seasons. In the Oracle of Ages, they are found in the Yoll Graveyard, the Spirit's Grave, and the Ancient Tomb in Labrynna.
In Oracle of Seasons, one strike from the Rod of Seasons obliterates a Ghini.
In Oracle of Ages, the Giant Ghini is the mini-boss of the first dungeon, the Spirit's Grave.
Four Swords Adventures
In Four Swords Adventures, Ghini appear as enemies in levels in the Near the Fields stage. They also appear during the boss battle with Jalhalla. There are both small varieties and larger ones.
The Minish Cap
The Ghini's in The Minish Cap reside in the area of Royal Valley. They attack anyone who is near them. They resemble to Gibdos and ReDeads because once they're onto you, they will start sucking the life force away from you. In this game, they are much more animated, licking Link upon contact.
There is one female Ghini named Gina, who lives inside of a tombstone. She is a pink, friendly Ghini who will gladly fuse Kinstone piece's with you and she has plently of them to fuse with Link.
