Template:Location Zora's Fountain is a location from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. It is a large fresh water spring located in eastern Hyrule, and can only be accessed by way of Zora's Domain. Zora's Fountain serves as the primary water source of Hyrule. The water of Zora's Fountain flows through Zora's Domain, the Sleepless Waterfall, Zora's River, and other small streams, ultimately filtering into Lake Hylia, the largest body of water in Hyrule.

Zora's Fountain is the resting place of the Zoras' guardian deity, Lord Jabu-Jabu. This humongous fish-deity can be accessed and paid tribute to from a small altar located in the shallow water. The inside of Jabu-Jabu's Belly serves as the third dungeon in the game. Also found in the area is the Ice Cavern, a mini-dungeon that can only be entered when Link returns as an adult to find the entirety of Zora's Domain frozen over. Additionally, a Great Fairy Fountain housing the Great Fairy of Magic who gives Link Farore's Wind is located in the area.

Interestingly, there is a cliff overlooking Zora's Fountain that can be seen from the area. However, this cliff cannot be reached. When using GameShark to access beta content of the game, however, it is discovered that this cliff acts as a one-way road to the Kokiri Forest.

Treasure

  • A Piece of Heart can be found at the bottom of Zora's Fountain. It is found there when Link is both a child and adult, but it can only be obtained when Link is an adult. He can then use the Iron Boots to sink to the bottom and obtain the Piece of Heart.
  • Another Piece of Heart can be found on one of the ice platforms.
  • Three Gold Skulltulas can be found in this area, two of which are found when Link is a youth: one can be found on the wall near the big, submerged tree at night, and the other is found by dashing into a lone tree near the entrance to the Great Fairy Fountain. The one that appears only when Link is an adult can be found by lifting the huge rock in front of the Great Fairy Fountain with either the Silver Gauntlets or Golden Gauntlets and then traversing the tunnel. At the very end of the tunnel, a Gold Skulltula appears at night.
