The Subrosian Secret is a Secret from Oracle of Ages used within Oracle of Seasons. Link will first need to complete Oracle of Seasons and start a Linked Game record of Oracle of Ages.
Learn the Secret
While in the Present on Rolling Ridge, a cave can be found at the far east edge of the map, located on the same screen as the Target Carts. This cave is usually empty, but in a Linked Game, it will be occupied by a Subrosian The Subrosian here tells Link that he has a brother that lives near the three peaks of the Subrosian Volcanoes in Subrosia. The Subrosian will give Link a secret and tells him to tell it to his brother.[1]
Tell the Secret
Back in Oracle of Seasons, Link can make his way to the Woods of Winter. From there he can travel west to the Subrosian Portal. Once in Subrosia, Link can head left a screen to find a cave that has a Subrosian with a gold robe. The Subrosian asks Link if he has something to say.[2] After Links tells him the secret, the Subrosian will be happy to hear that his brother is doing well. The Subrosian then asks Link for a favor.[3] The Subrosian wants Link to cut the grass within the cave using only the Magical Boomerang. The key here is that he is only allowed to toss the boomerang three times.[4] Throw the Boomerang and angle it so it cuts the grass. If Link fails, just speak with the Subrosian again and he'll reset the room, giving Link another try.[5]
Reward
After successfully completing the task, the Subrosian will thank Link, rewarding him with a Bombchu.[6][7] The Subrosian will also give Link a password that he can take back to Oracle of Ages to get the Bombchus there. Link can take this secret to Farore within Labrynna's Maku Tree to get the Bombchus in Oracle of Ages.
Once the Subrosian Secret quest is completed, Syrup's Potion Shop at the northeast corner of Yoll Graveyard will begin to stock Bombchus. Link can purchase five of them at the cost of 100 Rupees.
