This article is about the location. For the Shrine Quest, see The Spring of Wisdom.
Spring of Wisdom

The Spring of Wisdom is a location found in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.

Breath of the Wild

The spring is located at summit of Mount Lanayru. It is known as the location where the princesses of Hyrule Castle would travel to take part in a purification ceremony.[1] When Link first arrives, the dragon Naydra is corrupted by Malice, and rests immobile at the top of the mountain. No one under the age of 17 may access Mount Lanayru, since they are said to lack sufficient wisdom, and they subsequently cannot access the Spring of Wisdom.

The Spring of Wisdom

Main article: The Spring of Wisdom

The Spring of Wisdom is a shrine quest that Link can trigger by speaking with Medda at Hateno Village. Link will then need to visit the spring where he will find Naydra, infected by four Malice Eyeballs. After shooting one of them, Naydra will begin to move around, having been untethered. Link will then need to follow Naydra around, first to the absolute peak of Mount Lanayru, then to Madorna Mountain, and finally to the Naydra Snowfield. In order to free Naydra, Link must remove the three other Malice Eyeballs to restore it back to its normal form. From there, the Goddess Statue will instruct Link to shoot Naydra with an Arrow to get Naydra's Scale, and place it into the spring's waters, as an offering. This will complete the quest, revealing the Jitan Sa'mi Shrine.

Jitan Sa'mi Shrine

Main article: Jitan Sa'mi Shrine

The Jitan Sa'mi Shrine is a blessing shrine and holds a single treasure chest, which contains a Frostspear. Upon meeting Jitan Sa'mi at the altar, Link will be rewarded with a Spirit Orb.
