The Elder Secret is a Secret from Oracle of Seasons used within Oracle of Ages. Link will first need to complete Oracle of Ages and start a Linked Game record of Oracle of Seasons.

Learn the Secret

Link will first need to progress in the Trading Sequence to learn this secret. After giving the Lava Soup to the Biggoron on top of Goron Mountain, Link can head back inside the cave where he'll find a Red Goron. The Goron here mentions that one of his ancestors wrote in his diary that he came to Goron Mountain from Labrynna long ago. The goron here would have liked to meet his ancestor and ask him of the meaning of the secret in the diary. The Goron will ask Link to help in this task.[1]

The Red Goron will then tell Link a secret and he also mentions that his ancestor was the Goron Elder.[2][3]

Tell the Secret

The Goron Elder can be found in the past up on Rolling Ridge. He will appear at the Goron Shooting Gallery. He wll ask Link if he knows any secrets, at which point Link can tell the secret the Red Goron told him. [4] The Elder will tell Link that it is a good secret and offers to give Link the Biggoron's Sword, but not until Link completes a task.[5]

Reward

The Goron Elder will give Link the Biggoron's Sword, but only if he is able to show that he is able to use it. The Elder will task Link with playing the Shooting Gallery, using the Biggoron's Sword.[6] Link will need to score at least 300 points.[7] Using the Biggoron's Sword changes the game a bit, as it takes longer for Link to swing the sword. So the timing is a bit off and Link will need to adapt. Play it enough times until Link scores 300 points and Link will earn the Biggoron's Sword.[8]

The Goron Elder will then give Link a secret that he can take back to Holodrum and acquire the Biggoron's Sword.[9] Although the Goron Elder mistakenly says Labrynna instead of Holodrum.

Return to Farore within Holdrum's Maku Tree and tell her the secret. This will give Link the Biggoron's Sword in Oracle of Seasons.
