The Woodcutter's House is a location from Breath of the Wild, located on the Great Plateau.

Breath of the Wild

The Woodcutter's House is located in a wide open area, just south of the Temple of Time. The log cabin serves as a home for the Old Man, who can be found during the daytime, chopping wood. In the evening the Old Man camps out by the fire, just outside of the house, and the man sleeps in the bed without the house at nighttime.

Features

Inside of the house, Link will find an assortment of items and ingredients, including a Woodcutter's Axe, two Spicy Peppers, a Baked Apple, and a Stamella Shroom. Just in front of the house, there are some additional items, near the campfire, including a Torch and Pot Lid.

On the exterior of the house, LInk will find more Stamella Shrooms as well as a Farmer's Pitchfork nearby. If Link climbs on top of the house, he will find a Korok at the front of the house, near the floating Korok flower pedals.

The Old Man's Diary

Main article: The Old Man's Diary

Inside of the Woodcutter's House, Link will find The Old Man's Diary on top of the table. The diary outlines the Old Man's perfect dish, the Spicy Meat and Seafood Fry, a recipe that not only restores health, but also keeps the body warm, enable safe travel to the snow mountains. Unfortunately, the Old Man has forgotten one of the three items of the recipe and makes the offer that if somebody knew the missing ingredient, he would award that person with the Warm Doublet.[1]

Post-clearance of the Plateau

The cabin becomes a lodging location for Link to sleep, as the absence of the Old Man after clearing the Great Plateau makes his bed available. The bed itself is not free while the Old Man is present. This is the first free bed available to Link in the game, and can be easily reached by paragliding north from the Owa Daim Shrine.

Tears of the Kingdom

In Tears of the Kingdom, the Woodcutter's House has been taken over by the Yiga and is now surrounded by spikes, preventing Link from easily accessing the cabin. When Link examines the front door, he'll be confronted by a Yiga Footsoldier and a Yiga Blademaster.

Inside, Link will find a Hylian named Pitar. He was kidnapped and forced to make Yiga Masks for members of the Yiga Clan. After Link defeats the Yiga around the house, he can speak with Pitar who will give him the Yiga Mask before running off.
