Wing are Zonai Devices from Tears of the Kingdom.

Tears of the Kingdom

"A Zonai device that can harness lift to ride the wind. To fly farther, try balancing in the center of the wing."

— In-game description

Wings are unpowered Zonai Devices. When launched into the air, they can glide for some time if Link stands on the balance point. He can steer by moving to either side; or adjust speed and height by moving forward and backward. It can also be combined with other Zonai devices to power it - for instance, the Autobuild Schema Stone Link receives in the Great Abandoned Central Mine is for a "fanplane", a wing with three fans attached to speed it up - or a Steering Stick to make it easier to direct.

Launch rails exist on many sky islands, including Great Sky Island, which allow a wing to launch smoothly at speed. In the absence of these, or if the rails end in a steep rise, launching an unpowered wing successfully can be difficult. Attaching a cart to allow it to roll - as demonstrated in Jirutagumac Shrine ("A Flying Device"), which serves as a tutorial for the wing - can help with this, as can sleds in conditions not suited to wheels. Attaching rockets or fans can also sometimes make launching easier by giving them the thrust to overcome initial resistance.

After flying for some time, wings will begin to flash green. This is a warning that they are about to abruptly disappear, dropping anything or anyone on top to the ground.

As with all Zonai devices, wings can be found in Zonai Capsules from Device Dispensers or Treasure Chests; if removed from a capsule, they cannot be returned to it, although they can be fused to weapons or shields. They are also one of the most common devices found in Zonai armories in the Depths, or lying around on sky islands or near sky debris.
