Symin is a character from Breath of the Wild. He is a member of the Sheikah race, and one of only four located outside of Kakariko Village. He can be found in the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab, where he develops Sheikah technology with Purah. After upgrading Link's Sheikah Sensor, he will give Link a quest to collect 3 Sunshrooms. Once completed, he will be able to sell Link pictures for the Hyrule Compendium.
Overview
When Link first arrives at the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab, Symin is astonished that Link has a Sheikah Slate.[1] However, he quickly realizes that despite having Stasis, Magnesis, Remote Bombs, and Cryonis, some of the Runes are missing.[2]
Symin already knows who Link is as he has gotten word from Lady Impa that a man holding a Sheikah Slate will appear and that Symin and Purah should help him out.[3][4] Despite initially appearing as the man in charge, Symin quickly tells Link that it is in fact Ms. Purah who is the director of the tech lab. Symin will begin to tell Link that despite looking like a young girl, Purah is actually an older woman. He stops himself and suggests Link get the full story by talking to Purah.[5][6][7]
