The Rickety Coaster is a mini-game located in the Shipyard in Skyward Sword. It is run by the Goron Gortram. Access to the Rickety Coaster is unlocked after defeating Tentalus in the Sandship. Playing the mini-game sets Link back 20 Rupees.[1] The goal of the mini-game is to reach the finish in a mine cart without falling off the track. The mine cart is steered by tilting the Wiimote from side to side, which (if done correctly) will increase Link's speed and prevent him from careening off the track. Two difficulties are offered: "Scary" and "Heart Stopping."

If Link completes the Scary mine cart challenge in less than 35 seconds, he is rewarded with 50 Rupees.[2] If Link completes this task in under 30 seconds, he earns a Silver Rupee (100 Rupees). Reaching the finish without falling off the track earns Link 20 Rupees, even if his time is slower than 35 seconds.

For the Heart Stopping challenge, a time under 70 seconds earns Link a Monster Horn or Evil Crystal. Finishing in less than 65 seconds earns Link a Piece of Heart,[3] or (if he has already gotten the Piece of Heart) a Golden Skull or Blue Bird Feather.
