"You got a Golden Skull! A real rarity among skull ornaments, it shines with an eerie, golden color."

— In-game Description[1]

Golden Skulls are collectible items found within Skyward Sword. Despite its shimmering gold appearance, rumor has it it's not made of pure gold.[2] Opposite to its much more common variation,[3] Golden Skulls are rarely dropped by Bokoblins.[4][5] Instead, they are more frequently found in treasure chests and won through mini-games. They sell for approximately 100 Rupees, but can also be bought for double the price from the Moonlight Merchant.[6] Additionally, they can be used to upgrade certain items.
