The Golden Goddesses are Din, Nayru, and Farore. When all was chaos, the Golden Goddesses descended from the heavens, created Hyrule and the rest of the world, left behind the Triforce, and returned to the heavens. They are each attributed with a certain trait. Din is the Goddess of Power, Nayru is the Goddess of Wisdom, and Farore is the Goddess of Courage. Each of their essence inhere in the three crests of the Triforce. The Golden Goddesses tasked Hylia to protect the newborn world and the Triforce. After Ganondorf caused the Triforce to be split into three pieces, The Golden Goddesses desired the other two pieces of the Triforce to appear on the hands of two individuals, Link and Princess Zelda. The Golden Goddesses did not rule the world, but left its fate up to the land.
