They do a lot of damage if you come into contact with them, so that's the one thing that you have to remember.

Bow-Wow is a type of creature that appears in several Zelda games. They closely resemble Chain Chomps from the Super Mario series. In Four Swords, they are actually an equipable item that can be used to defeat enemies.

A Link to the Past

There are two Bow-Wows in A Link to the Past, and both reside in the same room in Turtle Rock. The two Bow-Wows can be found early in the dungeon, and they are undefeatable. They're chained to blocks, and they will lash out at Link every now and then. Adjust to their patterns accordingly and move into the next room. They do a lot of damage if Link comes into contact with them.

Link's Awakening

In Link's Awakening, there are two Bow-Wows. One is chained to the house of Madam MeowMeow in Mabe Village. After Link completes Tail Cave, the Bow-Wow is kidnapped by the Great Moblin and Link must go save it at the Moblin Hideout. With the help of this Bow-Wow, Link can gain access to Bottle Grotto.

Another Bow-Wow is next door to Madam MeowMeow. This Bow-Wow loves makeup and accesories, so she will give Link her Dog Food in exchange for a Ribbon during the Trading Sequence.

Four Swords

In Four Swords, Bow-Wow is an item you can get. The item acts similarly to the Bow-Wow Link's Awakening when Link is walking it.

Four Swords Adventures

A Bow-Wow also appears in Four Swords Adventures, where it can't be defeated, like in A Link to the Past.
