Zelda Content

Insiders' Calandar (foldout)

The issue came with a foldout calandar highlighting holidays, important dates throughout the year, and miscellaneous Nintendo related dates.

  • December 17th: "First 1,000,000 Zelda's sold (1987)"
  • March 22nd: "Princess Zelda awakens"

Counselors' Corner (pp. 64-65)

In the Counselors' Corner, there are four answers to frequent questions for The Legend of Zelda, with two of them focusing on the Second Quest.

Finding Level Seven

  • "In the First Quest of The Legend of Zelda where is Level Seven?"

Level Seven can be found by using the Whistle, while standing next to a pond in the western portion of Hyrule.

How to Enter Level Nine

  • "How do I get into Level Nine and what special items can I find inside?"

At the far north of the map, there are two large rocks known as Spectacle Rock. Placing a Bomb along the left wall revealed the entrance to Death Mountain. Inside, Link will find the Red Ring and Silver Arrow.

2nd Quest: Finding the Letter

  • "In the Second Quest of The Legend of Zelda how do I find the Letter?"

Link will need to first acquire the Power Bracelet before he can find the Letter. The Power Bracelet in the 2nd quest is located in the same spot as in the first quest, underneath an Armos, a few screens east of the Graveyard. Once Link acquires the Power Bracelet, he can head to a screen that is near the far northwest corner of the map and push a rock out of the way, revealing a staircase that leads to the Letter.

2nd Quest: Finding the Raft

  • "I've looked everywhere but I can't find the Raft. Where is it?"

In Level Four, after reaching the room with the Triforce, Link can walk north through an invisible door. After traveling a few screens north, he can push a block, revealing a staircase that leads to the Raft.
