The "Ballad of Gales" is a recurring song in the Zelda series.

Appearances

The Wind Waker

The Ballad of Gales is first taught to Link by the Wind Deity Cyclos. Cyclos teaches Link this melody when Link shoot Cyclos down with the Bow. This melody allows Link to warp to the following locations in the Great Sea.

This melody is required in order to beat the game, as it is needed to get the Fire Arrow and the Ice Arrow.

Twilight Princess

This tune appears yet again in Twilight Princess, as the fifth son you must howl in order to summon the Golden Wolf and get the hidden skill.
