Scorpis is a character found in Tears of the Kingdom.

Tears of the Kingdom

Scorpis is a guard who can be found at the center of town at Lookout Landing. He serves as the manager of Lookout Landing. When Link first arrives, he encourages him to talk to Purah.[1]

After speaking with Purah, Link can talk to Scorpis again and he'll give a more proper introduction to Link. He will tell Link that if he has any questions he should feel free to ask. Scorpis will also open the Emergency Shelter, the hidden bunker found below Lookout Landing.[2] He encourages Link to drop down below and feel free to make himself at home in the vault.[3] He mentions that while the shelter has Beds and a Cooking Pot, if Link needs ingredients or Armor, he should look at Mub's Shop, right here in town.[4]

Scorpis will tell Link the history of the Lookout Landing. It was originally established to research the Gloom beneath Hyrule Castle, but it has since expanded to become a search team for all those looking for Princess Zelda. The population of Lookout Landing has continued to grow as more people have decided to help in the search.[5] The Lookout Landing is constantly changing as well, thanks to new facilities being built because of Hudson Construction.[6]

Completing Regional Phenomena

After completing a non-Eldin Regional Phenomena, Scorpis can be found with Zorona and Kairo. Zorona is yelling at Kairo for not remembering how to reach Goron City. Scorpis will help to diffuse the argument, and Kairo and Zorona will start walking to the city.[7][8] Scorpis will tell Link how to reach the area as well, telling him to look towards Death Mountain in the distance.[9]

After completing a Regional Phenomena, Scorpis will also guide Link towards Gralens in the Emergency Shelter. He mentions that Gralens is researching large monsters.[10] If Link heads down to the emergency shelter and talks to him, he can begin multiple quests, including WANTED: Stone Talus, WANTED: Hinox, and WANTED: Molduga. Scorpis also comments that Mubs will be getting some more items in stock.[11]

Latest News

Link is able to speak with Scorpis throughout Tears of the Kingdom and ask him for the latest news. He will give a different answer, depending on the progress made so far. Although at times he has no news at all to provide.[12]

  • Early on, Scorpis tells Link that a rule of the emergency shelter is that the newest team member has to do the cooking. Scorpis was once the cook, but got so frustrated that he just started throwing Apples at the fire.[13]

Did you hear? Josha is recruiting for her chasm research team! I don't know any details, but it sounds as if they made an amazing discovery. A few interviewees went to meet with her, but they all walked away with slumped shoulders. I wonder who'll get the job. It would take quite a résumé to impress a genius like Josha.

Whatever happened, please go talk to Purah first and foremost. She's up in her research lab. That's on the north side of our fort, up on the second floor. Hurry!" — Scorpis, Tears of the Kingdom
  2. "Sorry I didn't greet you properly when you first arrived here, Link. I was just so relieved to see you. My name is Scorpis. I've been charged with managing Lookout Landing. If you have any questions about the place, any at all, come right to me. I'll answer as best I can. Now please, allow me to open up the emergency shelter. HEY! It's ME! Open up!" — Scorpis, Tears of the Kingdom

  4. "Lookout Landing was built on top of the royal family's emergency shelter. We don't have much equipment in there, but we do have essentials like beds and a cooking pot. Feel free to use those. If you need armor or cooking ingredients for your travels, you'll find all that at Mub's shop up here." — Scorpis, Tears of the Kingdom
  5. "Purah turned Lookout Landing into the central base for coordinating efforts to find Princess Zelda. Originally, she established this fort to study the gloom that started seeping from Hyrule Castle. Only researchers and members of the Zonai Survey Team worked here. But once the princess went missing, everyone wanted to help, so they've been coming in ever since. We're like one big, growing family." — Scorpis, Tears of the Kingdom

  7. "Well, thanks to this guy, now ya can! First, we have to walk down the road toward Death Mountain, which you can see over in the northeast. Then we'll arrive at Woodland Stable, and from there, we keep goin' north. Thanks again for the directions, fella!" — Kairo, Tears of the Kingdom
  8. "Happy to be of service. Using Death Mountain as a landmark is all well and good, of course. But the red haze around the summit looks worryingly like gloom. Try not to get too close." — Scorpis, Tears of the Kingdom
  9. "Link! I'm so happy to see you've safely returned! I was just telling this traveler the way to Goron City. It used to be pretty simple—you could turn toward Death Mountain and keep walking till you got there. However, since the lava started cooling, new roads have appeared all around Death Mountain. More than a few travelers have gotten mixed up." — Scorpis, Tears of the Kingdom
  10. "What have I seen...or heard... Someone must need something... Listen to this. I was speaking to Gralens in the emergency shelter's mosnter-control-crew headquarters. He's trying to learn what he can about large monsters. But it's probably nothing serious. I'm sure he has it under control..." — Scorpis, Tears of the Kingdom

  12. "What have I seen...or heard... Someone must need something... I don't think there's anything that we need help with currently. I'm sure that's because you're here now, Link. So thank you for checking in with us here at the fort. I know you're busy. I'll be here at my post awaiting Princess Zelda in the meantime. So if you need anything, you know where to find me." — Scorpis, Tears of the Kingdom
  13. "We here at the emergency shelter have a rule: the newest team member has to do the cooking. Our current cook has been grumbling that after coming up with a new menu every day, he's starting to run out of ideas. Reminds me of my time as cook. After a while, I gave up and started throwing apples on the fire. Hm? Oh, sorry. I was reminiscing." — Scorpis, Tears of the Kingdom
