In ''[[The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker|The Wind Waker]]'', Darknuts come in several varieties, which are color-coded according to their strength. Some of the stronger Darknuts have capes. The first Darknut is fought as a mini-boss in [[Tower of the Gods]]. All Darknuts have somewhat impregnable armor that can be removed either through repeated damage or through cutting the straps holding the armor in place, as well as by parrying, which lets Link remove either their helmet, or their armor. The unarmored Darknuts can finally be damaged, but they are also much quicker and more nimble, allowing them to evade Link's blows, as well perform new moves. Link can also disarm the foes and pick up their powerful sword, which has a long range, and can break pillars. While disarmed, Darknuts fight with various punches and kicks, although they try to recover their weapon as quickly as possible.

Silver Darknuts are recurring enemies in The Legend of Zelda series.[1] They are some of the most difficult enemies that Link encounters in The Wind Waker and The Minish Cap.

The Wind Waker

In The Wind Waker, Darknuts come in several varieties, which are color-coded according to their strength. Some of the stronger Darknuts have capes. The first Darknut is fought as a mini-boss in Tower of the Gods.

The Minish Cap

Darknuts are some of the toughest enemies Link faces in The Minish Cap. Like in The Wind Waker, they come in a variety of colors. Their sprites are 2D representations of the Darknuts from The Wind Waker and share the same weak point. However, unlike in The Wind Waker, armor from the Darknuts cannot be removed or destroyed. Darknuts wield large shields and will block any of Link's frontal attacks.

The first Darknut in The Minish Cap is found as an enemy within a Cave in Castor Wilds. It is a Silver Darknut with a bit of a green tint. A strategy while fight Darknuts is to use the Pegasus Boots and charge into a wall. Link will ricochet back and if the Darknut is close enough, Link will land in a spot where he can deal some damge. With the White Sword, it will take four hits to defeat this green-tinted Darknut. Alternatively, Link can also drop a Bomb and if it detonates near the Darknut, it will stun him momentarily, leaving him vulnerable to attacks.

The first Darknut here protects one of the three Gold Kinstone Pieces needed to reach the Wind Ruinss. A red-tinted Silver Darknut appears in the Fortress of Winds. It has the same health and strength as that of a green-tinted variant.

Both Red and Green tinted Silver Darknuts appear late in Dark Hyrule Castle. They appear in the same room, requiring Link to fight both of them at the same time. At this point in the game, Link has the Four Sword and can defeat these enemies with just three sword slashes.
