Template:Location

The pirate Stronghold is a minidungeon found in the Lanayru Sand Sea. Link visits it while searching for clues that will help him find the Sandship. After the Shipyard has been explored and found to contain no more than a Moldarach, Skipper suggests heading to the Pirate Stronghold itself. Completing it allows you to dowse for the invisible Sandship.

Goal and layout

The minidungeon-type location is very unique. It does not have any actual item rewards, nor does it have a miniboss. A device is seen in the first room, resembling the type used to support Timeshift Stones but currently empty. As you move through the corridors, you come upon a Timeshift Orb sitting on a piedestal similar to the one near the entrance. Fi tells you that you can carry it. Once you take it though, you cannot go back because of an electric barrier which is activated by the Timeshift Orb, so you have to go another way, using the Timeshift Orb to walk across quicksand. A Beamos, as well as a lot of Technoblins and DekuBabas will have to be fought, while the concept of moving the zone where time is shifted is used in several ingenious puzzles. Upon arrival to the starting room, you will be able to place the Orb into the piedestal, which will cause the shark-like structure to open its "mouth".

Note

The caption is waaaay to wide on the "open" picture. This results in the picture taking up a bunch of space. Anyone who knows how please fix that. Please also delete this after you've fixed it (or if you know you're going to soon).
