Ember

Ember is a character in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.

Breath of the Wild

Ember works as the owner of the Riverside Stable.

Tears of the Kingdom

Ember is the owner of he Riverside Stable where Link can speak with him to register a horse, or if he speaks to him from the inside, he can access the Ledger or rent a Bed for the right.[1] The first time Link arrives at the Stable, Ember will reward Link with a Pony Point.[2]

Ember mentions that Lookout Landing is recruiting some investigators after a big, history-changing discover.[3]

A Picture for Riverside Stable

Main article: A Picture for Riverside Stable

After completing one of the Regional Phenomena, as well as acquiring the Camera as part of the Camera Work in the Depths quest, Link can examine the empty picture frame on the wall in the stable. Ember will mention that The Stable Association asked them to hang the signs up to get ready for paintings to be put up. Ember wants to put up a painting of a Great Goddess Statue. He mentions that they are found throughout Hyrule, with one of them found in a temple, southwest of Hyrule Field. Although he doesn't know the exact location, thinking maybe that's because it's in an area that is difficult to get to by horse. This will begin the A Picture for Riverside Stable quest.[4]

Ember is referring to the Goddess Statue found at the Temple of Time, located on the Great Plateau. Link can take a picture of the Temple of Time Statue using his camera. After taking the picture, Link can return to the stable and show Ember the picture while speaking to him from inside the stable.[5] After showing him the picture, he'll ask if he can copy it for his painting. Ember will then create a reproduction that will go up on the wall.[6] As a reward for giving him the picture, Ember will give Link a Pony Point, as well as some Energizing Crab Stir-Fry.[7][8]

  4. "Ah, Link, has that empty frame caught your eye? We stable owners are going to be putting paintings on display for everyone to enjoy. The Stable Associatoin figured it'd be a good idea for us to hang the frames first to get ready. My mind is made up. I know just what to hang on that wall...a picture of a mystical, Great Goddess Statue! Oh, and if you're not already away, the "great" in the name refers to how BIG these statues are. They're quitly enshrined throughout Hyrule, but many people know their exact locations... The closest Great Goddess Statue to us allegedly stands in a temple southwest of Hyrule Field. But all my search attempts have come up empty. Maybe it's somewhere that's difficult to get to by horse... But I don't need to see the real thing! If I had a drawing of the Great Goddess Stataue, I could copy it down and put it up!" — Ember, Tears of the Kingdom
  5. "Huh? Did you bring me a picture of a Great Goddess Statue?! Can I see it?" — Ember, Tears of the Kingdom
  6. "Aha! This is exactly the picture I asked for! This would really liven up the look around here. Is it OK if I paint a copy? Thank you! Whoa... She is... TREMENDOUS! Both in terms of size and tranquil beauty! What a divine figure she cuts! It's as if my heart is fuller just looking at her! Now, just give me a moment to whip up a reproduction. Haha, don't worry! I'm quite good at this, I promise." — Ember, Tears of the Kingdom
  7. "I knew it! It's perfect for this stable! And it's all thanks to you, Link. It's a real blessling, having an image of a Great Goddess Statue watching over us. Towering over us, really! If you'd prefer a different angle or even a different Great Goddess Statue, I'm happy to copy and display a new one too. Simply give me the word, and show me the new picture! To show my approcation, I'm giving you one Pony Point. Oh yes, and please take this too! This dish is a stable specialty." — Ember, Tears of the Kingdom
  8. "Thank you for a truly splendid picture. Please, feel free to use the stable whenever you want." — Ember, Tears of the Kingdom
