Variations
Moas are flying spirits that resembling a floating eyeball. They can be found flying around many places in Hyrule. There are four variation of the Moas in this game.
Red Moa
Red Moas are spirits that flying across the graveyards found throughout Western Hyrule. This Moas simply fly slowly across the screen in same direction Link moves in. They can steal 20 experience points from Link if he touches one. Red Moas are the weakest variation of Moa and can be killed with a few sword slash. Link gains 10 experience points for defeating the Red Moa.
Blue Moa
Blue Moas are invisible spirits that flying across the graveyards found throughout Eastern Hyrule. Blue Moas cannot be seen unless Link has obtained the Cross from the Hidden Palace. They causes more damage than the Red Moas, and also can steal experience points from Link. Blue Moas have a large amount of hit points and they need many sword slash to be killed. Link gains 50 experience points for defeating the Blue Moa.
Purple Moa
Purple Moas are identical to blue Moas. They are invisible and you must have obtained the Cross to see them. Purple Moas appear only in the cursed town of Old Kasuto. Like the Blue Moas, they have a large amount of hit points and need many sword slash to be killed. Purple Moas are the only kind of Moa that do not steal experience points if Link touches one. The Purple Moa is one of the few enemies impervious to the transformative effects of Spell. Link gains 50 experience points for defeating the Purple Moa.
Fire Moa
Fire Moas are special variation of Moa that only found in palaces. They are orange in color, and have ability to drop fire into their enemies while they fly. Fire Moas have less of hit points than Blue and Purple Moas. But, they have the ability to steal experience points from Link like the blue and red ones. They are difficult to kill because they can fly quite high off the ground. Link gains 50 experience points for defeating the Fire Moa.
