A Mini-Game is a sub game within the actual game. There are many Mini-Games within The Legend of Zelda series and often upon completion of them Link is rewarded with a rare item, including Pieces of Heart, larger Quivers, and more.

The Legend of Zelda Minigames
There are a few Minigames in the first Zelda game. The first is the gambling game. In this, Link pays 20 Rupees and, he gains the chance of winning money. There is one other Minigame, much like this game, except Link pays rupees for information. This is questionably a Minigame, as it does not involve much chance or strategy.
