The Land of Twilight first appeared in Twilight Princess where the lands of Ordona, Faron, Eldin and Lake Hylia have been cloaked with darkness and shadow, known as Twilight. In the Twilight, certain monsters appear such as Shadow Bulblins, Shadow Deku Babas and Shadow Beasts which are all dark and more powerful, especially Shadow Beasts. The only way to clear the twilight is by collecting Tears of Light and bringing light back to the area.

Twilight also appears in Hyrule Warriors as a background of fighting.
