Pulse of the Ancients is the first of two DLC packs as part of the Age of Calamity Expansion Pass, and was released on June 18, 2021. First showcased at a Nintendo Direct on February 17, 2021, it added new playable character(s), new weapons, stronger enemies, and new challenges.

• A "Battle-Tested Guardian" playable character
• New flail weapon for Link
• Master Cycle weapon for Zelda
• "Apocalyptic" difficulty level
• A new stage called "In the Royal Ancient Lab"
• EX Royal Ancient Lab
• More challenging enemies such as more powerful Wizzrobes and Giant Chuchus
