Template:Enemy

The Mad Scrub is an enemy appearing in Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. It is a relative of the Deku Scrub and seems to be a frenzied version of the regular business happy Deku Scrub. It is an almost exact look-alike from the regular Deku Scrub. The only difference is its autumn leaf difference. Its skin is also slightly greener, both of these differences signify its madness.

The Mad Scrubs in Ocarina of Time are first found in the Sacred Forest Meadow when Child Link first progress to find Saria. There is a bunch of them who resides there, and when Link has defeated them and passed through them, he can proceed to Saria and learn her song, Saria's Song. Next time, when Link is an Adult, after sleeping in 7 years, his first quest is to set forth to the Forest Temple. While he departs to the Kokiri Forest in order to continue advance to the Forest Temple, he can find enemies infesting the Kokiri Forest. Amongst them are the Mad Scrub, who lurks there in general. After Link has completed the Forest Temple, the enemies will be nowhere to be seen and the Kokiris have returned to their home forest.

That's one Mad Scrub!
Even though it's weak, it sure
likes to attack!

Behavior

The behavior of the Mad Scrub is well known for the fact that it won't back down to sell you items or tell you hints, but will instead run away from you until it gets back to its bush. It also shoots three Deku Nuts instead of one. Like its relatives, it will hide from you if you get to close.

Habitats

The Mad Deku Scrubs likes to linger in forests or around swamps, and this is because they only live in the Kokiri Forest where Adult Link first finds them when departed there. He also finds them as a Child in the Sacred Forest Meadow. In Majora's Mask, he finds them around Woodfall.
