The Guard Notebook is the third item featured in the Trading Sequence in Phantom Hourglass that leads Link to receive the Swordsman's Scroll. This particular Scroll allows Link to perform the Great Spin Attack. If Link wishes to receive this item, he must first take the correct telescope to a certain member of the Ho Ho Tribe. Only then will he receive this notebook. The Guard Notebook is later exchanged with a traveler for the Wood Heart.
