Overview
In Hyrule Warriors, each weapon that a warrior can use has a specific element assigned to it. This determines the elemental properties of the weapon's attacks, as well as which warriors and units it is more effective against.
Elements cannot be re-assigned

Weapons with the Fire element will cause enemies that are thrown back to create a small explosion upon landing, damaging other units nearby.
Weapon | Warrior |
---|---|
Magic Rod | Link |
Naginata | Impa |
Summoning Gate | Lana |
Magic Hammer | Darunia |
Water
Weapons with the Water element cause a water bubble to form around the unit's head, causing damage over time for a brief period.
Lightning
Weapons with the Lightning element deal increased damage to juggled enemies.
Light
Weapons with the Light element gain a temporary attack bonus after repeatedly hitting multiple targets at once. White Xs will appear on the targets when the effect has activated.
Darkness
Weapons with the Darkness element gain a temporary attack bonus after repeatedly hitting a single target. A purple X will appear on the target when the effect has activated.
