He touches the [[Triforce]] before Ganondorf can reach it and uses its power to wish for Hyrule to be drowned beneath the waves, sealed forever, and the children to have hope. After Link defeats Ganondorf, Daphnes appears to Link and Zelda saying how he regrets what has happened in his past. He tells Link and Zelda that they must find hope and to walk the path of hope through the darkness that will come. He asks for forgiveness and says goodbye to Link and Zelda, drowning Hyrule with him and sending Link and Zelda to the world above.
