The Cursed Medal is an optional item found in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. It is one of the seven different medals found within the game, all with their own effects on Link.
How to get it
The Cursed Medal can be found after Link has given Batreaux 30 Gratitude Crystals. Batreaux will reward Link with the Big Wallet. After he is done talking, a chest will appear to the side. If Link goes near it Batreaux will stop him and urge him not to open the chest. He states that the chest contains "...the infamous evil of the dreaded Cursed Medal." Go ahead and open the chest.
Effects
The Cursed Medal applies a couple of different effects to Link. One is good, and one is bad. The good is that when Link is carrying it with him, Rupees and Treasure will appear more often. The bad is that he will not be able to open his Adventure Pouch while he has it with him.
Good Uses
The Cursed Medal is a perfect item to take with you on a Treasure hunt. It will make the chances of finding treasure much better.
