Apples are reoccurring items in The Legend of Zelda Series.

A Link to the Past

In A Link to the Past, Link can find apples by dashing into certain trees using his Pegasus Boots. Each apple that Link acquires will restore one Recovery Heart.

In the Game Boy Advance version of A Link to the Past, the apple is an answer to one of the clues in the quest to obtain the Whirlwind Sword Attack.

Twilight Princess

In Twilight Princess, apples are sold along with Bread and Pretty Flowers at one of the shops in the Hyrule Castle Town market. The 'get item' chime will play, but Link is not able to pick up the apple, nor does it have any use.

A Link Between Worlds

In A Link Between Worlds, Link can find apples by dashing into certain trees using his Pegasus Boots. Two different types of apples exist; red apples and green apples.

Each red apple that Link acquires will restore one Recovery Heart. Red apples are fairly common and easy to find. Green Apples are more rare, and will restore three hearts. Your chances at finding them are better when the apple tree is planted by Gramps. Apples can also be caught with the Net and stored in a Bottle for later consumption.
