Rare Chu are small, blob-like enemies that crawl on the ground, jumping at Link on occasion as their only attack.[1] They are one of many variants of the Chu found in Twilight Princess, including Blue Chu, Green Chu, Red Chu, Yellow Chu, and Purple Chu.
Overview
Rare Chu are, as the name suggests, very rare. Wherever other Chus are found in the game, there is a possibility that a Rare Chu can appear. However, there are a few locations where a Rare Chu always appears, including just south of the Great Bridge of Hylia, as well as within the Cave of Ordeals. While also rare, when they appear with other Chu, if they merge with any color, the large chu will take the form of the other colored chu.
When defeated, a Rare Chu will leave behind some Rare Chu Jelly. This Jelly works in the same way as Great Fairy's Tears; fully replenishing Link's health, as well as temporarily doubling his attack power.
