The Spool Swamp Shortcut[1] is a location found within Oracle of Seasons. It is located in southern Holodrum in the Holodrum Plain, just south of Mrs. Ruul's Villa. Like the initial entrance to Spool Swamp, north of the shortcut, the Spool Swamp Shortcut connects the southern waterways of Holodrum Plain to the southern parts of Spool Swamp. To the east of the shortcut, a sign is found that shows the direction of the Spool Swamp Shortcut.[1] The shortcut contains only one screen, providing a shorter way to the swamp. In the water, passers-by should avoid the three Water Tektites and swim around the four reefs. While not having too many features on the watery path, a cave can be found carved into the northern wall. This cave is filled with water and has a treasure chest in the middle of the room. The treasure chest contains a Seed Ring. When appraised, the ring becomes the Octo Ring.
Once Link receives Zora's Flippers or Dimitri's Flute, he can take the shortcut to Spool Swamp. In Spring, Link can not use the shortcut to access Holodrum Plain from Spool Swamp, as currents block the exit of the swamp.
