:I would think it has to do with areas that are similar in geographical comparisons. Such as Termina Field and Hyrule Field, Lost Woods and Sacred Grove, or Eldin Province and Faron Province. I am not entirely sure however. For now im gonna stick to this formula, and sooner or later im gonna ask Locke and Matt what they think. Just a question about the revisions

Do the hyperlinks for image files need to have caps? I noticed you were revising a lot of my image files, and as far as I could tell that was the only change- I didn't think it made a difference so, if the lack of caps causes problems, just let me know for the future. Melora 17:04, June 17, 2012 (CDT)

It's not exactly a problem, its just that without the Caps it links to a different page than you intended. This means that there will be a link to a page that appears to not exist, yet it does. It is a lot simpler to capitalize everything so theres no need for another a redirect page. Summary: Capitalizing everything in a title makes the wiki a lot more organized than without it.Fused shadows 18:38, June 17, 2012 (CDT)
Good to know! I had no idea, thanks! Melora 16:55, June 20, 2012 (CDT)

Patroller

You obviously put a lot of effort into both contributing content and double-checking others' contributions. I'm hoping you can make my job easier by officially patrolling some edits so I don't have to triple-check them. Activity has picked up a lot lately and we could use some more help in keeping up with it. Please let me know if you're interested. Do you have Skype? << Locke(T·C) >> 21:05, June 19, 2012 (CDT)

I would love to help. Unfortunately, I don't hae Skype or a webcam. Can I still participate without either? Fused shadows 21:17, June 19, 2012 (CDT)
Skype is pretty easy to obtain. It can be downloaded from Get Skype and is very simple to use. Contrary to the common assumption, it is actually primarily an instant messenger. You can have voice and video calls on it, but it is not required. It's beneficial for our staff and makes the patrolling job easier.— Emma (Talk) 21:25, June 19, 2012 (CDT)
O.k. I'll create an account. When I do, my username will be fused_shadows. I did not know that Skype was also an instant messager, that makes things a lot easy. Fused shadows 21:34, June 19, 2012 (CDT)
My Skype name is mjr162006, Locke's user name is locke642. Add either one of us and we can start.— Emma (Talk) 21:43, June 19, 2012 (CDT)

Related Area(s)

Are the related area(s) on the Location template for describing areas of simular characteristics or are they used to list areas of a nearby proximity? This is in regards to Termina Field. Abc2VE 11:58, August 7, 2012 (CDT)abc2VE

I would think it has to do with areas that are similar in geographical comparisons. Such as Termina Field and Hyrule Field, Lost Woods and Sacred Grove, or Eldin Province and Faron Province. I am not entirely sure however. For now im gonna stick to this formula, and sooner or later im gonna ask Locke and Matt what they think. Fused shadows 12:30, August 7, 2012 (CDT)
Yes, it's mostly for comparisons, as well as for areas that might be mistaken for one another (that is, the area itself, not its name. The latter would be taken care of with {{Specify}}). I'm thinking Stone Tower and Stone Tower Temple.
In short,
  • Areas are geographically comparable: yes they are similar.
  • Area A is a prominent location within Area B (i.e. it comes to mind immediately, or it is very important for B's identity): yes they are similar.
    • e.g. dungeons in their immediate surroundings. Skyview Temple is a similar location to Deep Woods, but it is NOT similar to Faron Province or Faron Woods, etc.
  • Areas are adjacent or are the same 'type' (town, region, dungeon, etc.): no, they are NOT similar.
    • e.g. dungeons are not similar to each other, the provinces are not similar to each other, etc.
The last case would be appropriate for a navigation footer.
