"Really looks like Link. Link's LIFE increases by 1 when you get hold of this."

Link Dolls are items found within The Adventure of Link. These items are scattered throughout Hyrule and if Link collects one of them, it will give him an extra life. These small dolls resemble that of Link's sprite while he is walking in the Overworld.

Locations

There are six of these dolls that Link can collect along his quest. Link can only get these dolls once as they will disappear after he collects them. Even if Link gets a Game Over, these dolls will not re-spawn.

  • One square southwest of the boulder that is blocking Moruge Cave. This boulder is found at the west end of West Hyrule, just after you exit the save that is south of the Town of Ruto.
  • Southwest of King's Tomb in West Hyrule. The doll can be found right on the cost to the west of the graves.
  • Found at the northern part of East Hyrule. As Link is walking eastward to Maze Island, the Link Doll is found on the southern cost on a patch of Desert.
  • Found in East Hyrule in a swamp area just passed the River Devil. Travel south from the River Devil to reach an area of gravestones. Just north of the gravestones, there is a swamp area. The Link doll is found on a screen at the northwest corner of this swamp region.
  • Found within the Hidden Palace in a few rooms just before Link faces off with Barba. As Link walks to the right, he'll drop into a hole that has two collapseable platforms. Link will need to make a timely jump to reach the right side of the room. The Jump Spell is recommended to ease this jump. The Link Doll is found to the right of an Iron Knuckle and a pair of Bubbles that Link will encounter.
  • Near the very end of the Great Palace, Link will be heading downward on an elevator where he can head left, right, or continue down on the elevator. Going to the right leads to a Fairy, while heading to the left leads to the final Link Doll.

Trivia

  • The Adventure of Link is the only Zelda title that uses lives. Thus, these 1-Up Dolls are the only type of extra lives that Link encounters in the entire series.
  • If Link changes the color of his tunic to red using the Shield Spell, this will also cause the Link Doll to change to red.
