Kampo

Kampo is a character in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.

Breath of the Wild

Kampo can be found at the Lakeside Stable where he spends most of the daytime standing and looking at the Horses found at the stable. Kamp has a fascination with the waterfalls at Lake Floria, referring to them as the very picture of perfection.[1] However, Kampo seems to think there is something strange at the very top of the waterfall, and while he thinks it has shrunk over time, there is a faint glow. He's unsure if this has been there the whole time.[2]

Kampo wakes up each morning at 5am before making his way to the horse stalls. He can be found standing by the stalls all day long, not heading back inside to go to bed until after midnight each night.

Tears of the Kingdom

In Tears of the Kingdom, Kampo can be found at the Lakeside Stable.

Ousting the Giants

Main article: Ousting the Giants

Kampo is look up at the caves that have formed near the waterfall. He is in distress as three monsters have come and settled within these caves. He is hoping for some way to chase these monsters out for the stable's sake.[3] When Link first speaks with him, he explains that the three caves in question all appeared after the Upheaval.[4][5][6]

His is referring to the Corta Lake Cave, Rodai Lakefront Tunnel, and Calora Lake Cave, all next to their respective lakes.[7] Within the caves themselves there are huge deposits of Luminous Stone, which has caused many travelers to come by to the Lakeside Stable.[8][9] With the monsters in the cave, it is driving away travelers and is bad for business at the Lakeside Stable. He wonders if somebody brave could come by and drive away the three monster brothers.[10]

Kampo mentions that the three brothers used to live near Taran Pass, which is where they were located during Breath of the Wild. For whatever reason, all three of them came and made their homes in the caves nearby. While they initiailly are asleep, once somebody draws near, they will awake and go berserk.[11]

Those three used to be over in Taran Pass to the northeast, but now they're in our region, hogging the caves for themselves. If we don't do something, travelers will stop coming here, and business at the stable will dry up! *sigh* I can't win. It's not as though they'll up and leave." — Kampo, Tears of the Kingdom
  9. "In those caves, there's luminous stone. I'm talking tons of the stuff, ripe for the taking! That's what made them such popular destinations for travelers around here. And then... Well, who could have guessed that this would happen?" — Kampo, Tears of the Kingdom
  10. "With the caves occupied by the monsters, fewer and fewer customers are coming to the stable. If only some brave someone would drive away the three giant monster brothers..." — Kampo, Tears of the Kingdom
