Hylian Shield

The Hylian Shield is Link's most famous shield, making many appearances. Its a fairly durable shield, not burning and absorbing tons of damage. In Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword they are Link's last shield.

Properties

The Hylian Shield is a metal shield, and therefore doesn't burn. It's very durable, capable of blocking a large variety of attacks without breaking. It is the shield the Hylian soldiers use in war.

Game Appearances

Ocarina of Time

You can find the Hylian Shield in a grave in the Graveyard at Kakariko Village, or buy it from the Bazaar for 80 rupees. It is the second shield you receive in the game. You can use it as adult link and young link when young link uses it he ducks but adult link uses it normally.

Twilight Princess

You can buy it at Malo's shop for 200 rupees. It is the final shield you receive in the game.

Skyward Sword

In Skyward Sword the Hylian Shield is the last shield in the game, and crafted by using the Upgrade System. This is the last shield in the game and is incredibly durable, sustaining a large number of hits and taking very little damage at the same time. This shield's durability meter is also much higher than all the other shields. In fact we have seen no discernible damage in the trailers of skyward sword so it may even be invincible. We have yet to find out.

Trivia

The Fighters Shield in A Link to the Past is incredibly similar judging by the official artwork posted by Nintendo. This shield was probably the basis for the Hylian Shield. The Hero's Shield in Majora's Mask and The Wind Waker are both very similar also, being based off of the Hylian Shield.
