The Beamos are a type of mechanical enemy that appear throughout the game, They are usually used as a security system in dungeons and spin around controlling a certain territory. These statues just look around in a circle. If they catch sight of you, they will shoot their beam at you through their eye. You can defend against this attack with the Mirror Shield, but it's better to just avoid it altogether. To kill it use Bombs or the Blast Mask. It will then explode, and the head will pop off, which will also explode after a moment.

The Beamos are a type of mechanical enemy that appear throughout the game, They are usually used as a security system in dungeons and spin around controlling a certain territory. They shoot beams at Link if they spot him (Thus why they are called Beamos) and the only way to dispose of them in some games are Link's Arrows. They will make a return in Skyward Sword, this time looking more futuristic and mechanical than before.

A Link to the Past

In A Link to the Past beamos are indestructible statues that shoot beams at you. They rotate in a circle searching for you, if there red eye crosses your path they will instantly shoot a beam at you. They are completely indestructible, so it's suggested you simply run for your life.

Link's Awakening

Ocarina of Time

These almost statue like enemies are not at many places in the game, but the few places they can be found are Within The Well, the Shadow Temple, Dodongo's Cavern, the Gerudo's Training Grounds, the Spirit Temple, and Ganon's Castle. They do not pose much of a threat and their only attack is to shoot a laser from its eye towards Link. To defeat them blow them up with either a bomb, a bomb flower, or a bombchu.

Majora's Mask

Found only in the Stone Tower area, including Stone Tower Temple itself. They haven't changed from Ocarina of Time and will just like the previous game fire a beam at Link if he gets spotted by it's eye while in the Beamo's territory. The best and only ways to kill them is with bombs, bombchu's or the Blast Mask.

The Wind Waker

Blue Beamos

Blue Beamos are statue-like creatures that remain stationary. The eye at the top of their main 'body' will stay in one spot, unlike the red beamos which rotates. This makes them easier to kill, since you can stand near them to activate the eye without having to worry about getting hit. You can defeat them with a skull hammer, a bomb, or an arrow, but they are only vulnearble when they're attacking you as well.

Red Beamos

Red Beamos are statue-like creatures that remain stationary. The eye at the top of their main 'body' rotates around, unlike the blue beamos which remains stationary. If it sees you, it will try and attack you with its laser. You can defeat them with a skull hammer, a bomb, or an arrow, but they are only vulnerable when they're attacking you as well.

Twilight Princess

Brown Beamos

Mostly found in the Goron Mines, and other smaller caves, this Beamos shoots fire beams at Link, they can be beaten by shooting an arrow into their eye. After being killed, you can drag them on a set path to cover switches or get to chests.

White Beamos

Located in the Temple of Time the White Beamos shoot beams at you. They can be defeated by shooting an arrow at it's eye, or by being smashed by a statue Link controls with the Dominion Rod.

Skyward Sword

Beamos are multilayered totem-pole like objects that are made up of different electrified parts. The head of the beamos turns in a mechanical way, as opposed to a fluent turning motion. These enemies can be defeated by slicing apart different sections of their body, then to deafeat them you must then perform a sword thrust to it's eye. The beamos will shoot out a laser beam from its eye, but this attack can be deflected using the shield.
