Link first encounters an Aeralfos as the miniboss of the City in the Sky. He must use his Clawshot on its shield to pull it down, then slash at it. It will fight back, so you have to use some Hidden Skills to defeat it. Defeating this first Aeralfos allows Link to obtain a second addition to his original Clawshot; the Double Clawshot.
Aeralfos also appear in the Cave of Ordeals and in Hyrule Castle. They often appear in large and numerous groups.
