Savrey is a character found in Tears of the Kingdom.

Tears of the Kingdom

Savrey can be found just north of the Rayne Highlands, where he is being attacked by a Bokoblin. He is a wandering chef, searching for caves to find some uniquely delicious ingredients.[1] He suggests that Link look at caves as they are full of both ingredients as well as Ore Deposits.[2]

In particular, Savrey points Link towards the Gisa Crater Cave to the north, which is filled with some Ore Deposits, including some Luminous Ore Deposits.[3]

After Link defeats the Bokoblin, Savrey will sit underneath a tent next to his Cooking Pot.

Savrey can also be found on the Komo Shoreline where he is attacked by a Blue Bokoblin. As a thanks for saving him, he will reward Link with a Deep-Fried Drumstick.[4] He's in the area as he's heard there are more caves around here. In particular he mentions that some of the entrances of caves are completed blocked by rocks and that Link will need to use a hammer-like weapon in order to break through the rocks.[5] Savrey is referring to the nearby Komo Shoreline Cave, which can be found just to the west of his Cooking Pot.

Savrey is also attacked by a Blue Bokoblin, just west of the Thims Bridge.[6] As a thanks for saving him, he'll give Link some Crunchy Fried Rice.[7] Savrey will talk about how Hearty Truffles were once common, but now are almost exclusively found in Caves and Wells. They blend in with the background, except for the rare, Big Hearty Truffles, which are less common but have a white coloring to them.[8]

Savrey is also battling a Bokoblin just north of the Sage Temple Ruins. Link can help him out and he'll reward Link with some Energizing Fragrant Seafood Stew.[9] He's exploring caves and is referencing the nearby Sage Temple Cave. He talks about Brightcaps and Glowing Cave Fish. When either are cooked, they produce a glowing effect, which allows Link to glow in the dark. It can be useful when Link is in dark caves or in the Depths.[10]

  1. "Hello there! Are you a traveler too? My name is Savrey. I'm a wandering chef. I wander from place to place, searching caves for uniquely delicious ingredients. As we both seem to be like-minded explorers, you're welcome to use my cooking pot whenever you like. Oh! And I bet the things I've learned in my cave searches could come in handy on your journey! Mind if I share?" — Savrey, Tears of the Kingdom
  2. "Caves are chock-full of valuable ores and ingredients. They're like nature's treasure chests! If you're not savvy to the joys of a good cave, you're not traveling to the fullest!" — Savrey, Tears of the Kingdom
  3. "To start...did you know that there's actually a cave right nearby? There's an opening in the ground north of us that leads into it. I didn't find many ingredients in there when I poked my head in, but I did see a fair share of ore deposits. Break one of those with a hammer or something and you're in for a treat. There's flint for starting fires, rock salt for seasoning your cooking...and luminous stones and gems to sell for high prices! Around here, caves are the only place to find ore deposits too. If you find a cave, don't think twice about going in. I hope our paths will cross again somewhere. So long, and safe travels!" — Savrey, Tears of the Kingdom
  4. "Thanks! Things were looking a little dicey, but you pulled me out of the fire! As a chef, there's no better way for me to thank you than with food. I hope this tickles your taste buds!" — Savrey, Tears of the Kingdom
  5. "I'm here because I heard there are caves in this area. You, too, I take it? No? In any case, I'm happy to see you and ready to share some more cave info! Caves are tricky things. Sometimes passages—or even the entrance—can be completely blocked by rocks. If that happens, the only way through is through. You just have to smash those pesky rocks! Regular swords and speras won't do you and good though. You'll need a hammer-like implement with a blunt tip. So it never hurts to be prepared to smash some rocks before you enter a cave. And hey, a blocked path isn't all bad. Sometimes you'll even find ore in the rocks you've smashed! I hope our paths will cross again somewhere. So long, and safe travels!" — Savrey, Tears of the Kingdom
  6. "Oh! My prayers have been answered! I've got a little monster problem here. Would you let me a hand?" — Savrey, Tears of the Kingdom
  7. "I'm saved! Good thing you arrived when you did. I may have bitten off more than I could chew there. Maybe this home-cooked meal can convey my gratitude! It's not much, but I hope you'll enjoy it." — Savrey, Tears of the Kingdom
  8. "Are you familiar with hearty truffles? They're valuable and delicious fungi. You used to be able to find them on the surface, but lately, I've only been able to find them in caves and wells. Hearty truffles are black and tend not to stand out, so it's important to keep a watchful eye out when searching for them. Though rumor has it that a few lucky people have stumbled onto white hearty truffles that have grown to a massive size. What a blessing it would be to cook with such a fantastic ingredient!" — Savrey, Tears of the Kingdom
  9. "Whew... These monsters are a real pain in the neck. As a chef, there's no better way for me to thank you than with food. I hope this tickles your taste buds!" — Savrey, Tears of the Kingdom
  10. "We meet again. I'm here because I heard there are caves in this area. You, too, I take it? No? In any case, I'm happy to see you and ready to share some more cave info! Have you ever seen glowing cave fish fitting about in cave pools? How about brightcap mushrooms? Both are rare organisms found only in caves and wells. Though I suppose their rarity is less important than their glowiness. If you cook and eat either one of them, they'll make your body glow! Isn't that neat? It's just a slight glow and not very useful for everyday life, but it could be handy for exploring caves! I hope our paths will cross again somewhere. So long, and safe travels!" — Savrey, Tears of the Kingdom
