Lawdon

Lawdon is a character in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.

Breath of the Wild

Lawdon runs the Wetland Stable, found just west of the Lanayru Wetlands. He runs both the Stable and the Inn. When talking to Lawdon from outside, Link can take a horse, board a horse, or register a new horse.[1] From the inside of the stable, Link can talk to Lawdon to rent out a bed. Lawdon offers two types of beds, a regular bed for 20 rupees, and a Soft Bed for 40 rupees.[2]

Tears of the Kingdom

Lawdon continues to work as the manager of the Wetland Stable. When Link first arrives at the Stable and speak with Lawdon, he'll award him with a Pony Point.[3] Link can use the Ledger to exchange Pony Points for various awards.[4] Link can speak with him from outside the stable to register or take out a horse.[5] Lawdon will also comment that Lookout Landing is recruiting investigators after a recent history-changing discovery.[6]

A Picture for Wetland Stable

Main article: A Picture for Wetland Stable

After completing one of the Regional Phenomena, as well as acquiring the Camera as part of the Camera Work in the Depths quest, Link can examine the empty picture frame on the wall in the stable to begin the A Picture for Wetland Stable quest. Lawdon would like to hang a picture of the Ring Ruins on the stable wall, as it is the hot topic for all customers who come by the stable. While Lawdon can see the ruins from the stable, it's a bit too far away for him to see well. He wants to create a painting, but he isn't quite sure how to go about it.[7]

From just outside the Makasura Shrine, Link can use his Camera and take a picture of the large Ring Ruins to the northwest. After snapping the picture, Link can return to the Wetland Stable and speak with Lawdon from inside the stable to show him the picture.[8] The picture is exactly what Lawdon needed. He'll ask permission and then create a reproduction of the picture on the canvas.[9] As a reward for helping him, Lawdon will award Link with a Pony Point and an Electro Elixir.[10][11]

  7. "Ah, Link, has the empty frame caught your eye? We stable owners are going to be putting paintings on display for everyone to enjoy. The Stable Association figured it'd be a good idea for us to hang the frames first to get ready. Since I'm going to the trouble of hanging a painting, I'd sure like to hang one of the Ring Ruins everyone's talking about. The Ring Ruins are ruins that are each shaped like rings. They all fell around Kakariko Village in the southeast. My gosh, are they ever a hot topic with all the customers who come here! So I'd like to have a BIG painting of them to hang on the wall. One that shows that ring-like shape they have. But I can't paint that scene without seeing it. Sure, I can see some of the ruins from here, but it's all too far away to see well. Anyway, I'd really like to do up that painting, but I'm just not sure how to go about it." — Lawdon, Tears of the Kingdom
  8. "Huh? Did you bring me a picture of the Ring Ruins?! Can I see it?" — Lawdon, Tears of the Kingdom
  9. "Aha! This is exactly the picture I asked for! This would really liven up the look around here. Is it OK if I paint a copy? Thank you! They really are huge ruins, aren't they... Who built those? And why? What was their purpose? No wonder that ruins falling out of the sky has caused such a stir all around Hyrule. Now, just give me a moment to whip up a reproduction. Haha, don't worry! I'm quite good at this, I promise." — Lawdon, Tears of the Kingdom
  10. "I knew it! It's perfect for this stable! And it's all thanks to you, Link. Whoa! I'm really happy with this nice, big painting of the Ring Ruins here. But if you have a different picture of the Ring Ruins, I'm happy to copy it and hang it there instead. Yes, if you ever want to see some fresh art up there, just show me a new image! To show my appreciation, I'm giving you one Pony Point." — Lawdon, Tears of the Kingdom
  11. "Yes, and take this too! It's something a traveler like you will find handy when faced with harsh terrain and weather." — Lawdon, Tears of the Kingdom
