Cloyne is a character in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.

Breath of the Wild

Cloyne is one of the villagers of Lurelin Village where he runs the All or Nothing game, which is a luck of the draw, Treasure Chest Game. He can be found in the hut, just north of the inn, where he can be seen sitting on the ground. When Link talks to him, he will try to get Link to play his game, enticing him by saying how he'd like to be rich, without having to work.[1]

Link can pay rupees to play a chest opening game, with a 1/3 chance of winning.[2][3][4] Link has a choice to bet either 10, 50, or 100 rupees.[5] The prizes he can win are proportional to how much Link bets.

Tears of the Kingdom

If Link has not completed the Ruffian-Infested Village side adventure, Cloyne can be found at the Dueling Peaks Stable. During the daytime he can be seen sitting and watching the Stable Trotters. Cloyne use to live out in Lurelin Village, but left after Pirates attacked.[6] He asks Link if he's feeling brave and would like to take on the pirates.[7][8] Regardless of what Link has to say, Cloyne laughs at Link, saying he's a little pipsqueak and would be no match for the dangerous pirates.[9]

At 10pm each day, Cloyne will get up and move over to sit down by the Cooking Pot. He remains there all night, until 8am the next day, when he'll go over and sit by the Stable Trotters once again. If it begins to rain, Cloyne will take cover near the Horses.[10]

After Link completes the Lurelin Village Restoration Project, Cloyne moves back to the Lucky Treasure Shop and runs that.

  3. "Whaddaya say? All you've got to lose is your pride...and your money." — Cloyne, Breath of the Wild
  4. "The idea is you pick any chest you want and open it. Simple, right? The best part is whatever chest you open, you get all the money inside. Course, only one chest is worth opening, heh heh. Don't come crying to me if you pick wrong." — Cloyne, Breath of the Wild
  5. "Before you go opening any boxes, you'll have to show me what it's worth to you. What's a bet, after all, if you don't stand to lose a bundle on it? That's the part that really gets a man's heart racing! It's up to you how much you want to throw in. But the more you bet, the more you stand to win. A man like you must have expenses. Couldn't hurt to make some quick cash-right here, right now-am I right?" — Cloyne, Breath of the Wild
  6. "HAAAhahaha! I'm only kidding! A skinny little guy like you? You'd be a goner before ya got out your sword! The pirates I'm talking about, they're nasty characters. Attacked Lurelin Village on the coast south of here. That place was my home, until the pirates forced me out. A peaceful village, blessed by the sea... That's what it used to be." — Cloyne, Tears of the Kingdom
  7. "Haven't seen your mug before. You new around here? Listen, I got a proposition for ya. Involves taking care of some no-good pirates. Whaddaya say—feeling brave?" — Cloyne, Tears of the Kingdom
  8. "So what's the story, kid? You going to take care of those pirates or not?" — Cloyne, Tears of the Kingdom
  9. "HAAA! Hahaha! That will never not crack me up! Just the idea of it! A little pipsqueak like you against the whole throng of 'em! They'd eat you for lunch! If you know what's good for you, you'll stay far away from those pirates—and that big ship they've got." — Cloyne, Tears of the Kingdom
  10. "I grew up on the coast, so I enjoy a good dip in the ocean. Soothes me. But getting rain-wet? That I don't like one bit. So outta my way! I need to get somewhere dry." — Cloyne, Tears of the Kingdom
