The Carrot is an item that appears in Four Swords Adventures. It can only be found during the Near the Fields level in the stage The Field. After bringing Malon back to her home, her father, Talon, allows the Links to use his horse.[1] Just east of their house, the Links can find a sign that offers carrots.[2] If they agree to take one, they receive the carrot inside of a crystal ball that they must break to obtain the item.[3] If they break the crystal ball and pick up the carrot, Epona appears for a limited time, making them temporarily invincible.[4] The amount of time is extended and they momentarily go faster whenever they pick up another carrot. More carrots can be found in the grass nearby.

  1. "[sfx]My thanks to all of you for saving my poor Malon! I'd love to give you a token of my gratitude! Hmmm...let's see... I've got it! If you're going to continue your trip, you should go on horseback! Those castle guards are sure to be headed this way, and there are more ahead, too. You'll be much safer riding my swift horses, I'm sure! Our farm's right next door. We've lots of carrots around, so take some with you. Those horses love carrots! They'll come running if you've got some handy. Thank you once again! I'll never forget what you've done!" — Talon, Four Swords Adventures.
  2. "Carrots for horses! Help yourself! Take a carrot? Yes No" — Sign, Four Swords Adventures.
  3. "You got a carrot! Take it out of your crystal ball when you need a horse." — In-Game Description, Four Swords Adventures.
