Baddek is a character in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.
Tears of the Kingdom
Baddek is a Hylian who can be found examining a green crystal, found on the Zokassa Ridge. Baddek is a lover of horses and loves the ridge, as it gives him the perfect view of many of the nearby plains, which are filled with Horses running wild. However, just as interesting as the horses are, Baddek is curious about the green crystal that recently well, at which he brought over to his camp. He loves the way it glitters and wants to put it up on a horse's saddle, to make the horse look incredible.[1]
Ride the Giant Horse

After Link examines the Ishokin Shrine to the southeast, a green light will beam from the shrine to the green crystal. After then talking to Baddek, he will be perplexed where the beam of light came from.[2] After telling Baddek that he wants the green stone, Baddek understands, thinking Link also wants to attach it to his favorite horse's saddle.[3]
Baddek has heard reumors of people talking about a Giant Horse in the region and he'dlove a chance to see the horse for himself.[4] If Link can find a giant horse, Baddek will give him the giant stone.[5] He doesn't leave Link empty handed though, as he does give him a hint that he should speak with people at the Highland Stable to the east, as they may know how to find the giant horse. This will in turn begin the Ride the Giant Horse shrine quest.
