Zelda Versus: Best Soundtrack Tournament — Quarter-Finals Recap
Posted on March 30 2018 by Rod Lloyd
Happy Friday, everyone! All the polls now open in the Quarter-Finals of our best soundtrack tournament. After all the craziness of Round 2, including the epic showdown between Twilight Princess and The Wind Waker, we weren’t sure if this round would see the same level of frenzy. But it would seem that the tournament is as hot as ever, as various unique match-ups split the fanbase down the middle. Let’s take a look at what’s happened so far.
We’d seen some squash matches in the previous two rounds, but in the Quarter-Finals, most of our remaining contestants have maintained a great deal of support. The differences between winning and losing titles aren’t as large as what we saw in Rounds 1 and 2. In fact, other than poor A Link Between Worlds, every title in the Quarter-Finals has received over 100 votes so far. That’s pretty cool.
And then there’s yesterday’s poll. Twilight Princess is doubling up on tough match-ups, as the GameCube / Wii title took down Wind Waker last round only to take on Majora’s Mask in this round. The bout is super close at the time of writing, with only 16 votes separating the two games. We’ve seen competitors bounce back from a bigger disadvantage before; this fight’s going to be the one to watch throughout the weekend.
Here are the Quarter-Finals polls, with the soundtrack currently winning each poll in bold:
