The Stinger is a stingray-like enemy that appears only in Ocarina of Time.

Stingers live in water environments such as Inside Jabu-Jabu's Belly and the Water Temple. They prefer to remain swimming underwater until Link gets near, although they can also be found diving out from underneath the floor, with only their upper fin visible when inside of it. On most occasions, they appear in groups.

Once a threat approaches, they fly out of the water and circle around in the air, eventually diving toward their prey. Link can hit them with his sword when they dive at him, or he can attack them with ranged weapons such as the Slingshot, Boomerang, Hookshot, or Fairy Bow. Deku Nuts are useful to stun them if they get too close.
