Odolwa can be defeated in a few different ways, the only hazard are his many attacks. He possesses a variety of attacks including moths, which can be killed for recovery hearts.
Also, he spins his sword quickly with great range which can be difficult to avoid. He defends himself with a shield mostly attacking with a sword. Odolwa also creates a ring of fire around Link.
 
The methods in defeating him are diverse. The bomb flower in the room or bombs can be used, your sword when he is stunned. An easy method in stunning him involves arrows, use them while he is dancing or summoning his moth friends. If you try during his other attacks, he may simply block with his shield. The Deku Mask is even useable it helps you avoid his insect friends who leave the Deku Link alone while also allowing you to use the yellow deku flower in his defeat. The only problem is his fire attacks when in Deku form.
