"Fighter's Sword
Link's Uncle will give him the family-owned Fighter's Sword when he encounters him in Hyrule Castle. This Sword is lightweight and short."
— Nintendo Power Player's Guide
The Fighter's Sword is the first obtainable Sword in A Link to the Past. It is given to Link as his Uncle dies in the basement of Hyrule Castle. The Fighter's Sword is Link's primary weapon until he collects all three Pendants of Virtue, at which point the blade is replaced with the legendary Master Sword.
